Over the years that we have been drinking wine we’ve not only discovered a lot of good places in Maryland where you can purchase a great bottle of wine, but we’ve also gathered a lot of experience when it comes to how to drink wine properly. Today we’re going to be giving advice on how you can make your wine taste better, to be more precise, how you can make your cheaper wine taste better.
From time to time my wife and I come across a vineyard that we just know is going to be a perfect retreat for when you want to just relax with a glass a wine and a the sounds of pristine nature all around you. At Big Cork Vineyards you can do just that. The vineyards are located on Main Street in Rohrersville, about 90 miles northwest of Annapolis and they have a whole heap of services offered, next to wines.
As we have already mentioned, me and my wife have a lot of miles crossed searching for interesting vineyards that offer decent quality wines in Maryland, mainly in and around Annapolis. Today we’re going to be talking about a find of ours which was actually one of the first vineyards that we discovered, about 10 years ago I think, the Black Ankle Vineyards.
Mean Trail is a wine road, or a wine trail, that covers 4 vineyards and offers some breathtaking sights of Maryland. As the name of this trail suggests, it covers cellars that either exclusively or partially focus on the production of mead and processing of other less known fruits, next to grapes. Everything you need to know about the trail is best expressed with this photo.
Best way to get some exercise and to get familiar with the Maryland wine scene is to travel on one of Maryland’s many wine roads. Cycling is the preferred method of doing it, because that’s how you get the most exercise. Plus, an additional perk of being on a bicycle when traveling wine roads is that getting a bit tipsy and driving your bike won’t get you in as much trouble as driving a car would. Today we’re going to talk about the Carroll Wine Trail, so let’s begin.
