From Slaughterhouse to Winery

Remodel 1

What you see is what you get! As you can see, the building had been neglected for past several years. This view shows where the tasting room will be and where the covered deck will be built.

This is the north side of the buidling. The masonry wall was in such poor condition it required extensive re-pointing before we could even consider painting it.

Remodel 3

This picture shows where the main entrance will be. You can see the concrete lintel that was just put in place. Also note the steel livestock chute on the left.

From the inside looking out (the livestock chute is now on the right). The cinderblock and wood walls would soon be on their way to the local landfil. From this angle, you can see where the covered deck will be built.

Progress at last! The new front doors are in place. The room behind these doors will become the tasting room. It was once the main butchering area. When you come to visit, you'll see that we left the overhead trolly system in place.

Looking out the new front doors, you can see the that all the old concrete and debris is gone (thankfully), and the deck foundation is taking shape.

Remodel 7

It's nice to work with something 'new' for a change. The decking is almost complete.

With the deck complete, the new concrete apron was formed and poured.

Remodel 8

AT LAST!
Remodel 9

Almost ready for business! The deck roof is done, and the front sign is in place. Once the blacksmith completes fabrication of the ironwork, the deck (and front entrance) will be complete.

Remodel 10

We've come a long way, but there's still much more work to be done. Please check back here from time to time to monitor our progress. Better still, why not stop by and check out our handiwork. We'll be happy to give you the tour!
